Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with Fabrication Experience to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating manual machining equipment and performing fabrication tasks to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise in reading blueprints, interpreting mechanical drawings, and utilizing precision measurement tools will be essential to ensure the accuracy and quality of every part you create. Duties
- Operate manual machining tools such as lathes, mills, and drills to shape and finish metal parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to determine machining requirements
- Set up and calibrate machines including lathes, mills, and other manual equipment for production runs
- Use precision measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to ensure parts meet strict dimensional tolerances
- Perform fabrication tasks including cutting, welding, assembly, and modification of metal components as needed
- Conduct quality inspections using CNC quality inspection techniques to verify part accuracy
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling power tools and hand tools
Requirements
- Proven experience as a manual machinist with strong fabrication skills in a manufacturing setting
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programs
- Knowledge of CNC machining principles including CNC G-code programming and setup is a plus but not mandatory
- Familiarity with machining tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measurement instruments
- Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately and apply GD&T standards effectively
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and machine setup adjustments
- Mechanical knowledge related to metalworking processes such as drilling, boring, threading, grinding, and assembly
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control during measurement and inspection procedures
- Excellent hand tool skills along with experience using power tools for fabrication tasks such as grinding and welding
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
