Role Summary
This is a hands‑on, field-and-office estimating role focused on producing accurate quotes for installations, repairs, and service of commercial roll up door and gate systems. You’ll partner closely with technicians, sales, and operations to scope jobs correctly, present proposals, and close awarded work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, timely estimates and proposals for doors, gates, and dock systems.
- Perform job walks, measurements, and site assessments; validate existing conditions.
- Collaborate with technicians/operations to confirm labor hours, parts, and schedule.
- Source and verify vendor pricing; maintain current cost databases and templates.
- Follow up on open quotes; track bid pipeline, win/loss, and change orders.
- Communicate clearly with customers about scope, options, and code/safety considerations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in estimating (construction, specialty trades, or similar industrial field).
- Ability to read measurements, specs, and basic drawings; strong math and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; customer‑facing professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word); estimating software a plus.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to visit field sites across the region.
Preferred Experience
- Industrial/commercial doors, gates, or loading‑dock systems background.
- Track record in client‑facing estimating or sales support.
