Position: Pipefitter
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Pay: $28–$32 per hour (DOE)
Hours: 50–55 hours per week, including some Saturdays
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter to install, maintain, and repair piping systems in industrial and commercial environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and a commitment to safety. The Pipefitter will work with a variety of pipe materials, perform precise cutting, threading, and assembly, and ensure all work meets OSHA and company standards. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting system issues, performing inspections, and working efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair piping systems in industrial and commercial environments
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Cut, thread, weld, and assemble pipe materials with accuracy
- Ensure all installations comply with OSHA and company safety standards
- Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and system troubleshooting
- Work with a variety of materials including metal, PVC, and copper
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a pipefitter or in a related trade
- Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Current OSHA certification (required)
- Certification in pipefitting or related trade is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to schedule demands
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
