What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compressed Gas Fill Plant Operator position at Industrial Source/National Fire Fighter Corp?
Swing Shift: Four 10-Hour Shifts Monday-Thursday, Every Friday, Saturday & Sunday Off!
You're Not Just Filling Cylinders...
Every cylinder you fill supports someone who depends on it. One day your work may supply oxygen to a hospital, CO₂ to a food processor or brewery, shielding gas to a manufacturer, or specialty gases to laboratories. If you enjoy hands-on work, staying active, and being part of a team that produces an essential product safely and accurately, this could be the career you've been looking for. Every cylinder that leaves our facility represents quality, precision, and safety.
A Day in the Life
Your shift starts by reviewing production priorities with your team. Throughout the evening you'll inspect cylinders, fill a variety of compressed gases using modern automated equipment, verify quality, sort and stage cylinders, load delivery trucks, and keep product moving efficiently through the plant. Every day is a little different, and you'll stay busy from start to finish.
Best of all? You'll enjoy three-day weekends every week with our four-day work schedule.
What You'll Do
- Safely inspect, fill, test, and prepare medical, industrial, specialty, and high-pressure gas cylinders while following strict safety and quality standards.
- Inspect cylinders, valves, caps, and labels to ensure every product meets company and regulatory requirements.
- Operate computerized filling systems, manifolds, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment used throughout the fill plant.
- Load, unload, sort, and organize cylinders for customer deliveries and route trucks.
- Accurately complete quality control documentation required by DOT, FDA, OSHA, and company standards.
- Assist customers picking up cylinders at our dock with professionalism and outstanding service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Learn multiple gas products, filling procedures, and plant operations through hands-on training.
- Cross-train throughout the fill plant to become a versatile member of our operations team.
- Help teammates whenever needed to keep work flowing safely and efficiently.
Who You Are
- Safety Comes First: You understand that safety isn't just a policy, it's a mindset. You enjoy following procedures, paying attention to details, and doing things the right way every time.
- Dependable and Hard Working: Your teammates know they can count on you. You show up on time, work hard, and take pride in pulling your weight every shift.
- Physically Active and Hands-On: You enjoy staying busy throughout the day and don't mind lifting, moving, sorting, and handling steel cylinders in a warehouse environment.
- Quality-Focused and Detail-Oriented: You understand that accuracy matters. You pay attention to details because every cylinder leaving our facility must meet the highest quality standards.
- Adaptable Team Player: You enjoy variety. One minute you may be filling cylinders, the next loading trucks, helping a customer, or supporting another area of the plant.
- Driven to Learn: You're eager to learn new equipment, gas products, filling procedures, and safety requirements. We provide the training—you bring the attitude.
- Proud of Your Work: You enjoy looking back at the end of your shift knowing you helped produce a quality product customers can rely on.
