Role snapshot

• Title: Industrial Metal Fabrication Specialist (MIG/FCAW)
• Focus: Blueprint-driven fabrication and production welding in all positions
• Impact: Deliver on-time, on-budget projects for demanding industrial applications

Core responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints/drawings; stage and align components to specification
• Prep parts using angle grinders, drill presses, handheld plasma, oxy-fuel torch, and an ironworker
• Perform quality welds (horizontal, vertical, overhead) on carbon and stainless from 14 ga up to 4"
• Work at height on occasion (12’ with ladders/boom lifts)
• Maintain welding tools/equipment; adhere to safety protocols at all times
• Collaborate with teammates and communicate clearly to keep workflow smooth

What you need to bring

• 2 years of MIG welding experience with FCAW capability
• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license
• Proven history in related fields (screw conveyors, bucket elevators, mixers, heavy equipment fabrication)
• Proficiency with GMAW (.035, .045), FCAW (.045, 1/16"), and .035/.045 316LSI stainless wire
• Confident reading tape measures and technical documentation (including AWS D1.1 context)
• Experience with layout/fit-up for CNC-cut and manually formed components
• Skilled with saws, squares, grinders, and basic hand tools; able to assemble parts pre/post weld for proper fit-up
• Capable of safe rigging/lifting of heavy, odd-shaped assemblies using forklifts and overhead cranes
• Dependable, detail-oriented, quality-driven, and a team player who embraces change and leads by example

Physical demands

• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; stand/walk up to 10 hours/day
• Frequently squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp, push, and reach overhead/outward

Tools, machines, and technologies

• MIG Welder
• Flux-Cored Arc Welder
• Provide your own basics: squares, tape measure, levels, welding hood, layout tools

Nice-to-haves

• Hydraulic shear, press brake, and part assembly experience
• TIG welding exposure
• Any relevant certifications (optional)

Hiring process and expectations

• Must pass a welding test prior to hiring
• AWS D1.1 certification test required after hiring
• 30–90 day probationary period

Safety is non-negotiable—PPE (face shield, gloves, etc.) and adherence to company policies and procedures are expected at all times.

Schedule and compensation

• Must be able to work Monday–Fridays 5–5:30; sometimes weekends as needed
• Pay is based on experience and welding test results
