We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and distribution activities. Hands-on supervisor responsible for daily recycling plant operations, employee oversight, safety and environmental compliance, and efficient material processing in a demanding industrial environment. The ideal candidate will manage inventory control, streamline processes, and lead a team to ensure efficient warehouse operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, comprehensive knowledge of logistics and warehouse management systems, and the ability to handle materials safely and effectively. The Operations Supervisor will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence within a fast-paced environment that supports shipping & receiving functions.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping, receiving, and materials handling.
- Lead and manage warehouse team members to ensure productivity, safety, and quality standards are met.
- Oversee inventory control processes using Warehouse Management System.
- Coordinate logistics activities to optimize warehouse distribution and materials flow.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety protocols related to moving conveyors and machinery, heavy lifting, forklift operation, and materials handling.
- Manage shipping schedules, coordinate with carriers, and oversee 3PL partnerships for timely deliveries.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues such as forklifts or other warehouse machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and receipts.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, safety updates, and performance feedback.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervision within a distribution or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment and material processing, inventory management, warehouse systems.
- Hands-on experience with forklift operation and materials handling equipment.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and logistics best practices.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehousing operations.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a safe work environment.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily operations.
