Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-07 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of specialized technical purchasing methods and procedures to perform complex purchasing work. To include understanding of steps necessary to make purchases and uses accepted practices or procedures to resolve problems and deviations.
- Knowledge of government procurement concepts, principles and practices; the Federal procurement statues and regulations consisting of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Department of Homeland Security Acquisition Manual (HSAM), Coast Guard Acquisition Procedures (CGAP, COMDTINST M4200.19 series), Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) Manual (COMDINST M4200.13 series), COCO Alerts and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Knowledge of procurement functions to determine and utilize the most economical means of providing procurement support to our customers. Skill in dealing with others in a work relationship to present/request information orally and to obtain the required information whether written or oral as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
You will serve as a Purchasing Agent and be responsible for purchasing items used by Industrial Operations Division (IOD) industrial operations. The IOD provides the maintenance, repair, and emergency response capability of the SFLC. The primary purpose for this position is to serve as a purchasing agent responsible for all aspects of the contracting and purchasing transactions for supplies; computer, electronics, and telecommunications equipment; marine supplies, equipment, and engineering hardware; medical supplies, services, and equipment; recreational equipment; technical and maintenance services; support services; ships and dockside repairs; and construction

- Evaluate incoming procurement requests.
- Performs all facets of purchasing for the division.
- Performs full range of post award functions.
- Provides assistance, guidance, and technical advice on procurement policy and procedures.
