We currently have an opening for an Electronics Assembly Technician for Industrial Physics in our Greensboro, North Carolina location.
Summary
• Performs assembly of electro-mechanical and opto-electronic components utilizing the following processes: subassembly, assembly, testing and finishing (Final-out/Gage R & R).
Essential Functions:
• Set-up, install and troubleshoot computer software & hardware using Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
• Assembles, troubleshoots, performs acceptance testing and finishing (Final-Out) on electro-mechanical components and assemblies by using written work instruction, e.g., engineering drawing, assembly procedures, acceptance test procedures, engineering and industry specifications.
• Perform gage repeatability (Gage R&R) on the system and transfer data to QC using Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of the proper and safe use of tools and equipment required to perform the assembly and testing of components and subsystems.
• Achieves department productivity goals by complying with established priorities and work procedures, along with utilizing good time management skills.
• Ensures all technical information is used and all work performed is properly recorded on the appropriate records, with all inspection tools and equipment are in proper working order and properly calibrated during accomplishment of all job activities.
• Contributes to team projects by exchanging ideas and provides process improvement suggestions, works well with other departments, and develops positive working relationships.
• Initiates requisitions for stock as required for work being performed.
• Strict adherence to all company safety requirements and company guidelines.
• Ability to work efficiently within production time standards to meet production deadlines.
• Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.

Requirements

Supervisory Responsibility
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education, Certification, and Experience
• Associate’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics or similar area of concentration.
• Two (2) years in a technically oriented or complex component assembly/test environment.
Preferred Education, Certification, and Experience
• Associates degree in a technical discipline.
• Lean Six Sigma training.
Physical Demands
• May require lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Standing up to ten (10) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.
• Ability to hear and see, with or without the assistance of a device.
• Ability to read intricate, small, and detailed writing with or without the use of corrective lenses.
