Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician (Level II) to support our production operations. These roles are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum uptime and safety.
This position is hands-on and requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a Team.
Maintenance Technician II (Senior Level)
Experience Requirement
10-15 years of industrial maintenance experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment
- Perform advanced repairs including: roller bearing replacement and rebuilds on shafts; alignment and replacement of pulleys, belts, chains and drive systems
- Maintain and repair the following equipment: single facers, Honeycomb panel lines, Honeycomb core lines and slitters, laminators and steam boilers
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and manuals
- Troubleshoot and support PLC systems and computerized machine controls
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) programs and recommend improvements
- Support installation, setup and commissioning of new equipment
- Perform facility-related maintenance including: plumbing repairs, electrical work, basic welding and fabrication, roof and building repairs
- Mentor junior technicians and assist in training efforts
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
Required Skills
- Strong PLC troubleshooting knowledge (Allen-Bradley, Siemens or similar preferred)
- Proficiency working with electrical systems (motors, controls, sensors)
- Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and rebuilding systems
- Computer literacy for diagnostics and documentation
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (heat, noise, dust)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work
- Willingness to work overtime
Preferred (Strongly Encouraged)
- Must supply and use personal hand tools
- Experience in corrugated, packaging or converting industries
- Welding experience (MIG/TIG/Stick)
- Experience with steam systems and boilers
- Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures
