Job Description
The Industrial Electrical Technician supports the Field Services Group by installing, testing, and maintaining industrial electrical and networking systems. This position ensures the implementation of reliable, scalable, and secure networked solutions for customers in manufacturing, process control, and municipal systems. The role involves hands-on work with control panels, instrumentation, cabling, and diagnostics, and requires collaboration with engineering and operations teams to deliver best-in-class technical service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Apply working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Operate and maintain various tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.
- Diagnose electrical system performance through observation and testing.
- Install Ethernet networking electrical systems at commercial and industrial locations.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot Ethernet cabling (CAT5/6) and fiber optic infrastructure.
- Fabricate network control panels per schematics, including layout, component mounting, wiring, and point-to-point testing.
- Install and service analog and digital instrumentation such as level indicators, flow meters, thermocouples, and motion control equipment.
- Utilize predictive technologies such as infrared and ultrasonic tools for system diagnostics.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, sales, and operations teams on integrated project solutions.
- Communicate technical requirements and provide solution-oriented feedback across departments.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Two-year technical degree in electronics, instrumentation, industrial controls, or robotics
Experience:
- 2–5 years of industrial electrical or instrumentation experience
Licensing:
- Journeyman Electrician License required
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical blueprints and NEC standards
- Experience with Ethernet and fiber optic systems
- Familiarity with analog/digital instruments and control systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with predictive diagnostic tools (e.g., infrared, ultrasonic).
- Field service experience across industrial environments.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Work in field environments that may include industrial sites and outdoor conditions.
- Frequent standing, climbing, lifting, and use of diagnostic tools.
- Ability to lift 30–40 pounds; operate man lifts; field-based tasks as needed.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
