Position Summary
Industrial Mill Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a dependable and experienced In-Cab Overhead Crane Operator to join our team at a local steel manufacturing facility.
This position operates a 40-ton overhead magnet crane approximately 25 feet above the production floor, loading finished steel pipe into the hot mill and supporting mill operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to safety, excellent depth perception, and the ability to work rotating shifts in an industrial environment.
Schedule
- Rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights)
- Overtime available based on production needs
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 40-ton in-cab overhead crane with magnet
- Load steel pipe into mill using overhead crane equipment
- Follow all company and facility safety procedures and regulations
- Maintain awareness of production flow and assist in meeting daily production goals
- Communicate effectively with ground personnel and supervisors
- Complete required safety and operational training
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years experience operating an in-cab overhead crane in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience operating magnet cranes preferred
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
- Must pass drug screening, physical exam, and criminal background check
Experience operating overhead cranes in steel mills, pipe mills, or heavy manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
