We’re Hiring: Plating Line Operator / Process Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Plating Line Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing plating operations, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficient production flow.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect first-article parts and recommend accept/reject status
• Adjust process parameters based on performance (commercial-grade jobs)
• Approve and sign off on commercial-grade production
• Supervise rackers and coordinate workflow
• Stop production if quality issues arise and escalate appropriately
• Communicate with Production Coordinator regarding orders, issues, and delivery conflicts
• Report processing concerns to management
Work Activities Include:
• Start up and monitor plating lines, ensuring all equipment is operational
• Verify tank temperatures, including chiller and boiler systems
• Read and interpret work orders to determine plating requirements
• Set up and control plating equipment (temperature, current, time, thickness)
• Coordinate rack selection and ensure productive load quantities
• Operate cranes/hoists to move parts through cleaning, rinsing, and plating processes
• Monitor plating quality and make real-time voltage/amperage adjustments
• Inspect finished parts visually and with measuring tools
• Identify and report non-conformances
• Maintain clean finishes through proper rinsing and drying
• Support plating of small components using barrel systems
• Lead and assist team members in racking, cleaning, and plating
• Monitor process performance and notify Quality of non-conforming materials (NCMs)
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience in metal finishing or plating operations preferred
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to read work orders and follow technical specifications
• Leadership mindset with the ability to supervise and guide team members
• Problem-solving skills and ability to act quickly in production environments
Bilingual preferred
