We are seeking a savvy, high energy, and motivated individual to lead the sales efforts of a growing B2B distributor of industrial materials with over 45 years of history on the West Coast. The candidate should be outgoing, aggressive in work habits, and have a proven record of guiding sales teams to success. We are looking for a individual who leads by example and can step in to directly assist the sales team with closes and all other aspects of the sales cycle.

The Western Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for a team of sales professionals and will be required to create and execute sales strategies to accelerate growth and enter new markets. This position will have a wide mandate to manage the process of acquiring, closing, and maintaining business within the Company’s sales areas.

We are looking for an individual who lives to close deals.

This is not a position for arm-chair managers or for people who do not like constant interaction. This is a roll up your sleeves position where you will report to a CEO who loves to jointly celebrate success and who does not accept excuses.

Industry specific training will be provided.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to be to:

  • Develop both market and customer specific sales plans
  • Maintain a constantly updated list of leads and targets and to fill the pipeline when the sales team runs short of targets.
  • Manage day to day activities and targets for the sales team
  • Travel with the sales team to conduct joint calls with key accounts in the US and Mexico
  • Work with the sales team to craft and implement sales and closing strategies, directly assisting with closes when necessary.
  • Aggressively follow-up on leads with the sales team and track sales pipeline progress
  • Develop and follow written programs for the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Report to management daily - multiple times if necessary - as business activities and deal flow warrants
  • Use CRM to actively track, monitor, and manage performance among the sales team.
  • Manage and track sales team sales budgets, P&L, and expenses
  • Source, screen, hire, and train additional sales staff as the need arises
  • Up to 75% travel may be required, including overnight and international travel.
  • This is *not* a home based position. Office time will be required when not meeting with accounts or traveling with the sales team.

The Western Regional Sales Manager will report directly to the CEO. This position is for someone with a previous track record of success in business development and sales management who is looking for an opportunity to make a difference at a fast growing sales organization.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate should possess the personality, work ethic, and integrity that are required to work at a company that is seeking to aggressively expand its national sales footprint. This is a position for self-starters who are aggressive, hard-working, and looking to develop a long-term sales management career at a company with aggressive plans for expansion

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of 10 years of experience selling technical products and another 6 years in a sales management and leadership capacity. Deep knowledge of management and sales techniques that incorporate CRM systems is a must.

Prior experience selling industrial products in a business to business setting is a must, as is familiarity with the following software packages: CRM (Salesforce.com), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
