POSITION SUMMARY:

Safely sets up and operates liquid and powder application equipment to paint sheet metal parts to

the customer’s specification and performs non-painting skills such as hanging and removing parts

from the line.


PAY IS DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE!!! THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION!!


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to wear a respirator and be certified by a physician.

• Ability to perform essential responsibilities.

• Strong background in industrial painting or powder coat painting

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 60 to 115 degrees, depending upon the

seasons.

• Must be dependable.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school education or equivalent

• Minimum of two years (2) painting experience in a manufacturing environment


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Ability to wear a respirator and be certified by a physician.

• Prepare and paint a variety of sheet metal parts and apply finish coatings to Mil Spec

requirements.

• Working knowledge to mix paint, use thinners and work with other chemicals of the

department.

• Ability to set up painting equipment and guns, operate baking and drying ovens, line speed, and

other paint line equipment.

• Correct work as directed, repair scratches or other imperfections in the finish.

• Pick up parts from pallet, extend arms up to reach paint line hooks and hang parts on the

paint line in specific loading sequence.

• Remove painted parts from the paint line and stack onto a pallet.

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, and use simple math to perform

basic calculations.

• Clean-up work areas, equipment, supplies, and materials; apply standard safety practices and

procedures.

• Performs a variety of routine and preventative maintenance painting duties.

• Must be able to perform visual inspection and test for coating thickness.

• Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

• Update computer records and paperwork in accordance with production requirements.

• Must have a working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in

writing.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the department, they are not an essential

part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other department members.

• Performs all other duties, as assigned.

• Sits occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day.

• Stands frequently for up to 7.0 hours a day.

• Walk frequently for up to 7.0 hours a day.

• Bend/stoop occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day.

• Reach above occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day.

• Drive, use of foot controls occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day.

• Pushing/Pulling occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day.

• Fine Manipulation occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day.

• Grip occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day for parts handling.

• Balance continuously up to 10 hours a day - working around equipment.

• Lift/Carry parts ranging from 0 lb. – 10 lbs. continuously up to 10 hours a day.

• Lift/Carry parts ranging from 10 lbs. – 20 lbs. frequently up to 7.0 hours a day.

• Lift/Carry parts ranging from 20 lbs. – 50 lbs. occasionally up to 2.5 hours a day.

• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral

vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 115 degrees, depending upon the seasons.
