Machine Operator

About the Role:

The Machine Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by efficiently operating and maintaining various production machinery to ensure high-quality output. This position requires precision and attention to detail to handle equipment such as slitting machines, press machines, and CNC tooling systems, contributing directly to the production line's smooth operation. The operator is responsible for setting up machines, monitoring their performance, and making necessary adjustments to meet production specifications and safety standards. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize machine functionality, thereby minimizing downtime. Ultimately, the Machine Operator ensures that manufacturing targets are met while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience operating manufacturing machinery such as slitting machines and press machines.
• Basic knowledge of CNC tooling and production machinery operations.
• Ability to read tape measures and use precision measuring tools like micrometers.
• Familiarity with safety procedures related to overhead cranes and clamp trucks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in machine operation or manufacturing technology.
• Experience with deburring processes and quality control techniques.
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment within the United States.
• Training in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Forklift or clamp truck operator certification.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor slitting machines, press machines, and other production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• Set up machinery by reading tape measures and using micrometers to ensure precise measurements and tooling configurations.
• Perform routine maintenance and deburring tasks to maintain machine efficiency and product quality.
• Safely handle overhead cranes and clamp trucks to move materials and finished products within the production area.
• Inspect finished products for defects and report any discrepancies to supervisors for corrective action.
• Maintain accurate production logs and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding machine status and production progress.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
