Overview
We are seeking an Inside sales professional to join IIS in Hastings, Nebraska USA, a family-owned power systems distribution company. This individual would primarily focus on parts and aftermarket sales for all markets that we serve and be expected to demonstrate expertise in these areas. Individual will also be involved in the sales process for all whole good product offerings, including but not limited to: base engines, power packs, generators, pumps, and drivetrain equipment. Markets/Industries covered for our products include agricultural, industrial, oil & gas and power generation. Limited travel required. Inside Sales/Parts representatives will work with customers to find what they want, create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. Parts sales representatives will work to find new parts sales leads as well as maintain business relationships with existing customers.
Individual will report to the Vice President of Sales & Engineering.
Duties
- Handle walk-in (face-to-face) parts customer inquires.
- Take orders via phone, email and fax from various types of customers and process those on our business system.
- Produce quotes (price and lead-time) of parts and select whole goods for our customers.
- Utilize our internal MRP/ERP business system with proficiency.
- Be a resource of product information (parts and whole goods) for our customers.
- Process returns and warranty claims.
- Learning forklift operations and physically operating as needed.
- Meet frequently with sales staff and managers.
- Work frequently with Purchasing and Production departments to understand product lead-times and any constraints.
Required Skills:
1.) Industrial Parts, Engine, and Drivetrain knowledge.
2.) Experience with Supplier Relationship Management.
3.) Strong leadership qualities with good communication and interpersonal skills.
4.) Excellent customer follow-up and perseverance.
5.) Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
6.) Willingness for limited travel and work as a professional team member.
7.) Able to operate effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic, changing market environment.
8.) Be friendly, well-spoken and ready to help our customers and co-workers.
9.) Possess technical knowledge of and an interest in engines and engine systems.
10.) Foreign language skills beneficial, but not required.
11.) Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
