Industrial Inspection & Analysis (IIA) is seeking experienced NDT Level 2 Technicians to join our lab in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate will have Level II certification in one or more of the following methods: 

  • CWI-Certified Welding Inspector
  • RT-Radiography
  • MT-Magnetic Particle
  • PT-Penetrant
  • UT/UTT-Ultrasonic Flaw Detection and Thickness Testing 

Preference will be given to candidates with Level II in UT.

Position Overview

The technician will perform hands-on Non-Destructive Testing at customer sites and / or IIA business locations in support of IIA projects. The applicable NDT method will be performed; the integrity of the item inspected will be assessed with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications; and the results reported to the applicable personnel. Additionally, the technician will support other associated tasks such as job preparation, coordination, mobilization / demobilization, and reporting as directed by their supervisor.

This is a full-time position that will support a minimum of 40 hours per week. If NDT work is not available, the technician will support other areas of the lab to ensure 40 hours of work per week. Other benefits we offer include:

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Perform hands on NDT / NDE work interfacing with the customer and directing / training Technician Assistants / Apprentices based on the specific work scope.  
  • Ensure work and used materials are compliant with manufacturer and customer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality procedures, laws, regulations, and customer requirements.  
  • Own personal and overall job site safety stopping the job if required due to unsafe conditions or lack of compliance with quality requirements
  • Perform day to day and routine safety observations and inspections.
  • Perform pre-job preparations of equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope.
  • Perform post-job equipment, job walkdowns, procedural reviews, etc. as required by the specific work scope for the completed work and future work scheduled / planned.
  • Complete applicable job reports and other paperwork as required / instructed on or before the required date as communicated by the applicable IIA representative.

Required Qualifications  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understand basic physical NDT principles, processes, and limitations.
  • Provide verifiable evidence of previous certification, or completion of ASNT recommended training program for applicable method or successfully complete the training program and applicable exams.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) strongly preferred. 
  • Understand mechanical concepts and spatial relationships.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and prepare technical specifications and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills for daily interaction with customers and fellow employees.
  • Ability to use basic software and Outlook to generate service reports and communicate within the company, including skills to navigate web-based service literature and programs.
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license.
  • Take and pass all pre-employment screening, including background and initial and future random drug screening.
  • Meet or exceed quality program requirements for work experience on the applicable method and total work experience for the NDT method and level.
