What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer - Fire Equipment Technician position at Industrial Inspection & Analysis?
Position Summary
IIA Fire Department Testing, a leading company in the fire safety industry, is looking for full-time Fire Equipment Technicians to join our New Jersey (Tinton Falls) team immediately. We provide an essential service testing fire equipment for fire departments at their locations.
This is a General Labor position with no previous experience required. All training will be done on site. The starting hourly rate is $18.00/hour.
Work is during the months of February through December.
Responsibilities
Test and inspect every inch of fire hose by:
- Removing all hose from fire apparatus and racks
- Performing required recordings and tests
- Repacking hoses to the proper place
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation to work
- Be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Hard working and very dependable
Working Conditions
- Work is Monday-Friday and occasionally Saturday
- Typical week consists of 40 hours (Average of 50 hours/week)
- Occasional work day can be 12 hours; Shift is not over until job is completed
- Daily pick-up is 7:30 am at Park and Ride in Eatontown, NJ
- Occasional work trip out of state required for up to 1 week (hotel and food provided by company)
- Steel toe work boots required and work shirts supplied by company
Physical Requirements
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently required to walk and bend over.
- Must be able to work outside is various conditions (light rain, heat, cold, etc.)
