Position Summary
The role of the Parts/Rental associate is a key position that procures product for over-the-counter parts sales and facilitates the flow of parts and materials that are needed while selling, repairing, and renting forklifts and other equipment. A Parts/Rental associate works with both external and internal customers and is expected to provide a high level of customer service to both. Understanding forklifts in regards to repairs and mechanical knowledge required(2 years).
Key Tasks
- Answer phones and assist both call-in and walk-in customers with their parts/rental requirements.
- Customer service skills are mandatory as face to face, email and over the phone engagement is necessary.
- Provide parts to customers and technicians based on their expressed needs and also anticipate other parts that could be required.
- Research parts using the Toyota Electronic Catalogue and other parts look-up systems.
- Understanding customers’ needs by listening and asking key questions to help them with parts or rentals.
- Enter and maintain customer invoices as required.
- Parts, receiving, shipping and quality control handling inbound and outbound orders. When issues arise then contact the appropriate vendor in a timely manner to reconcile the difference.
- Ensure timely entry of all data and the upkeep of computer records.
- Stock shelves with incoming product in a timely manner.
- Distribute parts received for a repair job to the appropriate mechanic in a timely manner.
- Maintain Parts inventory counts and service van inventory counts.
- Ensure a safe environment by keeping the work areas clean and organized.

- Accuracy - Ability to accurately count inventory, locate inventory, and identify inventory items.
- Communication – Ability to communicate effectively with others both through the spoken and written word in order to determine the correct product needed to fill the order.
- Comprehension – Ability to analyze and interpret inventory reports.
- Time Management – Ability to effectively manage time and meet necessary deadlines.
Education and Experience
- Education – High School diploma or General Education Degree
- Experience – One to two years of related experience with shipping, receiving, QCIC (quality control, inventory control) and parts warehouse experience. In addition forklift experience related to repairs and maintenance.
