Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, inventive and motivated Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into precise, high-quality components through various fabrication techniques. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and shop math skills to cut, shape, assemble, and weld metal parts according to specifications.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) processes following AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Measure dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy within specified tolerances.
- Conduct rigging, assembly, and installation of fabricated components within our facilities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to welding, machining, and material handling.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and site protocols.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW welding techniques adhering to AWS standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings.
- Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication including ductwork and metal sheeting processes.
- Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, assembly techniques, rigging operations, and schematics interpretation.
- Experience with construction equipment such as forklifts and an understanding of ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems.
- Strong shop math skills including basic math calculations necessary for precise fabrication tasks.
- Familiarity with gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), plasma cutting techniques, soldering, and mechanical fabrication processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for manufacturing or construction projects involving metal components.
