PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position is primarily responsible for training, directing, and coordinating the activities of the assigned Value Stream, and managing the floor space utilization in a safe and effective manner in order to produce quality products for customers and deliver them on time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and implement daily production targets, assignments, and sequences in alignment with production objectives outlined by the Operations Manager.
- Coordinate and prepare employee work schedules, ensuring optimal organization and efficiency.
- Manages multiple product groups.
- Monitor and report consumable and material need to the Materials Department preemptively, minimizing disruptions to production.
- Contribute to the development, enhancement, and adherence of policies and procedures aimed at optimizing production efficiency and product quality.
- Arrange project workflow stages to maximize production cycle efficiency.
- Collaborate with the quality team to analyze and address quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining high-quality standards across all production processes.
- Provide technical guidance and support, addressing queries from the production team.
- Assist in managing personnel matters on the production floor, including HR-related issues.
- Participate in recruitment, termination, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Maintain and report out on the Daily Visual Management (DVM) board, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to communicate team performance, issues, and progress.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the production area (5S standards).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
- Ensure team members maintain workflow within the assigned takt time.
- Ensure standard work is followed by all team members; audit regularly and coach deviations to ensure process adherence.
- Move or allocate resources (personnel/materials) as needed to support workflow continuity or overflow on the production line.
- Participate in kaizen events and implement standard work improvements to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Adhere to established safety guideline.
- Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Technical Degree (BS) preferred or 5 years' experience in associated manufacturing field.
- At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience with production, engineering, warehouse and quality functions in a manufacturing/plant environment
- Must be able to speak and write in English
- Bilingual with Spanish is a plus

Physical Demands:
Activities: Sitting – 30% Walking/Standing – 70%
Lifting: Frequently lift up to 30lbs. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Bending: Must be able to bend, squat, and climb.
Vision: Long periods of close work on the computer screen and ability to see small or detailed items.
Mental Demands: Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Environment: Shop/warehouse, which is not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
