What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Operator 4 position at Industrial Distribution Corporation?
Position Summary:
Produce parts and tools from metal using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends, punches, or cuts into material.
Hours - Monday-Thursday 2:15 pm-12:45am
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate brake press machines to bend and form precision sheet metal to meet customer specifications.
- Understand the blueprint as it relates to the finished part.
- Able to hold close tolerances on sheet metal parts per engineer drawings
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep the area clean and organized for maximum efficiency
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Lift more than 20 lbs. at times
- Willing to move around to other operations (flexibility)
- Amada experience preferred
Education/Certification:
- 2 or more years in the sheet metal industry setting up CNC Press Brakes and/or other sheet metal-related machines

While performing the duties of this job, the employees must stand at least 8 hours per day. The employee is frequently required to grasp, handle, and feel objects, control and manage tools with full body control, and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear.
The employee will push and pull at least 50 pounds consistently, frequently lift and/or move from ground to table up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move from ground to table up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a light manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally high for short durations of time with noise from impact tools and forklifts.
