Industrial Defender is seeking a seasoned Director of Information Technology to lead and evolve our internal IT operations. This role is responsible for managing all third-party technology relationships, overseeing our local and colocated data centers, ensuring ongoing SOC 2 compliance, and securing Industrial Defender’s corporate, office, and web presence.
The Director of IT will operate as a hands-on leader, implementing strategic technology initiatives while maintaining reliable day-to-day operations. This individual must be able to work cross-functionally, exercise strong judgment, and communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, auditors, and executive leadership. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Foxboro, MA.
Salary Range (Required by Massachusetts Pay Transparency Law):
$150,000 – $175,000 base salary
Responsibilities
Technology Operations & Infrastructure
· Oversee all aspects of Industrial Defender’s local and colocated data centers, ensuring availability, performance, and security.
· Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems including servers, networks, communication systems, storage, hardware, and cloud resources.
· Maintain and optimize endpoint management, identity access management, and enterprise security tooling.
· Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are current, tested, and effective.
Governance, Compliance & Security
· Own and maintain Industrial Defender’s SOC 2 compliance program, including documentation, evidence collection, control implementation, and coordination with external auditors.
· Define, implement, and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
· Protect Industrial Defender’s web presence, office IT environment, and internal systems from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.
· Lead ongoing efforts in vulnerability management, incident response, and cybersecurity best practices.
Vendor and Third-Party Management
· Manage all third-party technology relationships, including contract negotiation, performance management, and service delivery outcomes.
· Evaluate new vendor solutions and technologies to support business objectives while optimizing cost and operational efficiency.
· Oversee service providers supporting infrastructure, security, connectivity, and cloud services.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Serve as the primary point of contact for IT needs across the organization.
· Support global sales and delivery teams
· Partner with internal teams—including Security, Engineering, HR, and Operations—to support technology requirements.
· Manage and guide 3rd parties; oversee day-to-day support operations to ensure excellent service delivery.
· Provide regular reporting to company leadership on IT performance, initiatives, risks, and opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities
· Oversee corporate device lifecycle management, asset tracking, and software license compliance.
· Lead strategic IT initiatives to modernize systems, enhance security posture, and support business growth.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
· 7–10 years of progressive IT experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
· Experience managing data center operations, network infrastructure, and enterprise security.
· Strong knowledge of SOC 2 and related compliance frameworks; prior audit management required.
· Proven ability to manage third-party vendors and service providers.
· Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and IT risk management.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work on-site in Foxboro, MA.
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
