What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Welding Inspector position at Industrial and Commercial Services Group, Inc?
DUTIES AS FOLLOW BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Ensuring that welding/NDT activities are carried out by Employees in accordance with approved Welding/NDT Procedure Specifications, Method Statements, Project Specifications, Project Procedures and relevant Codes & Standards.
- Performing inspection and ensuring that welding/NDT activities are carried out by Employees in accordance with approved Welding/NDT Procedure Specifications, Method Statements, Project Specifications, Project Procedures and relevant Codes & Standards.
- Performing Inspection and supervision of the welding/NDT Activities carried out on the Construction sites and/or Employees workshops in accordance with approved Employees ITP Inspection points and related notifications.
- Ensuring that Inspection & Test Plans are timely basis applied by Employees and that project requirements as listed In ITP are fulfilled for each welding/NDT activity
- Performing the required surveillance ("monitor", "witness", "hold point"} on due time as per the related inspection notification and being acknowledged in advance with the applicable standards and specifications and supervision of the welding/NDT.The job holder is responsible for:
- Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that welding/NDT activities are carried out by Employees in accordance with approved Welding/NDT Procedure Specifications, Method Statements, Project Specifications, Project Procedures and relevant Codes & Standards.
- Performing Inspection and supervision of the welding/NDT Activities carried out on the Construction sites and/or Employees workshops in accordance with approved Employees ITP Inspection points and related notifications.
- Performing routine surveillance of the activities carried out on the Construction sites and/or Employees workshops, minimizing any adverse Impact on the scheduling of the activities.
- Ensuring that Inspection & Test Plans are timely basis applied by Employees and that project requirements as listed In ITP are fulfilled for each welding/NDT activity
- Performing the required surveillance ("monitor", "witness", "hold point") on due time as
- per the related inspection notification and being acknowledged in advance with the
- applicable standards and specifications.
Welding
- Approving [when specifically required] and supervising WPS & PQR issuing and
- qualification process.
- Approving and supervising the welders/weld operator’s qualification program. Monitoring welders/weld operator’s qualifications and performance and checking proper implementation at work places
- Ensuring the quality of products, consumables and materials comply with requirements of established Standards & Specifications.
- Regularly checking welding parameters and essential/non-essential variables Checking the availability and suitability of the filler metal and of preheating, welding and control equipment.
- Supervising feasibility of the welding operations as well as design and operation of the welding equipment.
- Monitoring the welding operations specifically the suitability of protection and precautionary measures adopted by the welder both for the preservation of electrodes and for facing adverse atmospheric conditions,
- Ensuring all the personnel employed and operating in the welding activities are duly skilled and qualified In accordance with the applicable specifications, codes and regulations.
- Ensuring that all the utilized equipment and consumables are of the appropriate and approved/certified type and there are in a good status of maintenance and sufficient in number.
- Following and assisting the Employees on the process of issuing, qualifying and implementing their welding procedures In accordance with approved relevant technical documents.
- Systematically inspects Employees workshops and construction sites and report / advise any problem concern regarding HSE in particular for welding activities. Resolving all issues, queries and critical situations related to the welding operations, in a most effective and efficient manner in accordance with project requirements.
NDT
- Ensuring the quality of products / consumables / materials comply with requirements of established Standards & Specifications

- Resolving all issues, queries and critical situations related to the NDT operations, in a most effective and efficient manner in accordance with project requirements.

General
- Advising the Client Interface of any quality related problems or deviations.
- Ensuring the proper handling of non-conformities, in accordance with the instructions received from Client Interface and discipline engineers.
- Liaising with Employees on a daily basis, providing advice and guidance on Quality issues.
- Preparing when required by Client Interface or Project Manager daily, weekly or monthly reports according to the applicable Instructions.
- Participating to the various site meetings when invited by Client Interface or Project Manager.
- Ensuring that Employees issue all the necessary quality documents, and that they are duly signed and filed; monitoring the timely production of the quality documentation.
- Signing the quality documents/reports issued in accordance with the received instruction. The Job Holder shall verify that the documents have been already signed by proper authorized Contractor personnel and shall clearly state if his signature is placed for:
- Review: when It Is carried out an only documental assessment that the contents of the document and of its attachments are in compliance with codes, standards procedures and specification. "
- Witness: when the activity described in the quality documents/reports is attended and surveyed in order to verify its compliance with codes, standards procedures and specification.
- Approval: when the signature means the formal act of giving authorization to the execution of the activity described in the document for instance with' a specific methodology.
- Acceptance: when the signature means that the contents of the documents proposed and the related items (if applicable) may be favorably accepted and handed-over to the next work or certification phase.
Specific instructions
The Job Holder will act as an Independent Inspector and will refer to Superintendent with regards to any technical and administrative issues. The Job Holder will constantly keep management updated about any quality problem and he will issue an inspection report at least on a weekly basis. Furthermore he will also advise supervisor interface at site regarding any quality deviation found during the surveillance activity.

- OTHER BUT NO LIMITED TO OTHER TASKS ASSIGNED BY OFFICERS OF COMPANY AND UPPER PERSONNEL. The QA/QC supports ICSG in financial management and related services for ICSG to include: This is a full time, hourly, non-exempt position. The hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, though later or earlier hours and weekend work will be required from time to time.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
