We are seeking a highly qualified Field Radar Expert for a nationwide project involving the deployment and replacement of civil air traffic surveillance radars (approach and en-route) across the United States. This position is critical to ensuring that advanced radar solutions are implemented, validated, and maintained to meet the highest technical and operational standards in civil aviation environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of primary and secondary surveillance radars (PSR, MSSR, CSR, NCSR) at multiple sites across the US.
  • Assist and provide expert guidance to field deployment teams, supporting them in resolving technical challenges and ensuring best practices.
  • Perform troubleshooting, and validation of radar systems to ensure compliance with technical and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate and supervise parallel activities at different locations, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
  • Interface with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and validation records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards throughout all project phases.


Competencies:

  • Advanced technical knowledge of radar systems PSR (NCSR) or MSSR (CSR) and their integration in civil air traffic environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience in field operations, including installation, testing, and maintenance of radar equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously in complex operational settings.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive approach to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage simultaneous activities at multiple sites.


Reporting Line:

  • The Field Radar Expert will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for coordinating activities across various deployment sites in parallel.


Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of primary and secondary surveillance radars (PSR, MSSR, CSR, NCSR).
  • Experience providing expert guidance to field deployment teams, supporting them in resolving technical challenges and ensuring best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field is required.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., FCC, FAA, or equivalent) will be considered a plus.
  • Equivalent work experience in radar system deployment and maintenance may be considered in lieu of formal education.


Additional Valued Skills

  • Experience with air traffic management systems and civil aviation standards (FAA, ICAO).
  • Familiarity with safety and quality assurance processes in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the United States.
  • Spanish language skills will be valued.
