Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Location: New Albany, OH

Duration: 24 Months

Pay Rate: $70 to 75/Hr on W2

40-hour work week. Flex schedule- 4x 10hr or 5x 8hr. No OT expected.

Travel consists of occasional daytrips to visit sites, but overnight travel is not expected.

Job Designation is on-site, 5 days a week.

Valid State DL required.

Prefer local candidates; may consider candidates willing to relocate at their own expense.

Description:

1. For the remaining two Ohio PM positions, the team wants PM Prin-level candidates only.

2. Experience and education must be applicable to Transmission. Project Portfolio is growing fast, and the expectation is that the candidates will begin at top speed and be performing at high level quickly.

3. Focus on major commercial construction, electrical utility, or power system PM experience. IT and Telecom education and experience will not qualify.

4. Manage one or more intermediate and/or complex projects (or program area of projects) within a matrix team environment.

5. Provide leadership, direction, training, coordination, and effective communication to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control, and close projects in a safe, efficient, economical, risk-balanced approach to achieve short and long-range goals and to obtain maximum customer satisfaction.

6. Develop relationships and effectively communicate with all stakeholders, including internal customers, external customers, team members, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and industry peers.

7. Perform supervisory duties and responsibilities if direct reports are assigned.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks:

1. Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and manage assigned project activities with demonstrated proficiency in all aspects. Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the Client System Safety Process, ensuring a safe working environment focused on Zero Harm. Manage, develop, review, and coordinate the project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff.

2. Effectively manage cost and timely reallocate funding. Effectively communicate project details and status updates.

3. Lead planning meetings and project/outage updates, including detailed and complex stakeholder presentations.

4. Provide clear and concise written and oral reports and other communication.

5. Develop and actively manage working relationships with the project team, plant and operating company staff, internal and external customers or partners, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

6. Foster teamwork and achieve customer satisfaction. Provide a wide range of detailed guidance, instruction, and training to improve design, systems, procedures, processes, schedules, and costs.

7. Confidently challenge others at a high level of informed understanding in all project work.

8. Ensure maximum customer satisfaction and demonstrate effective and efficient performance of project work activities at the complex project level.

9. Supervise up to two employees as assigned, including duties such as completion of well-written performance plans for professional development.

10. Provide support to direct reports in their development activities and mentor other project managers.

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or related field of study with seven (7) years qualified experience or a two-year Associate's degree in the same required disciplines with nine (9) years of qualified experience (see below).

Qualified experience includes work in project management, major construction field experience, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, and/or comparable internal or external experience in a competitive production environment. Experience must include a demonstrated level of successful project management duties, business acumen, and prior responsibility for ALL of the PMI PMBOK knowledge areas. Demonstrated preparedness for specialist-level PM knowledge capability in areas of construction safety, negotiations, scope development and control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls and reporting, quality control, risk management, etc.

Licenses/Certifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP) is strongly preferred.
