Manager, Retail Development
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Note: Transition to full-time onsite (5 days) begins September 2026. Duration: 6 Months
Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Pay Rate: $60.50/hr
Role Overview
The Manager, Retail Development is responsible for executing retail strategies to drive the sell-in of licensed merchandise across key retail partners, specifically focusing on our partnership with Target. You will manage day-to-day relationships with retailers and licensees, ensure high-quality in-store execution, and support brand growth through compelling consumer product offerings.
Key Responsibilities

Account Management: Manage relationships with Target and various licensees to drive sell-in/sell-through across categories including Sporting Goods, Food & Beverage, Beauty, and Essentials.

Strategy Execution: Implement retail strategies and monitor performance to identify sales and distribution growth opportunities.

Product Launches: Partner with licensing category teams to support retail activations and new product launches.

Brand Compliance: Ensure brand consistency across all licensed products and retail placements.

Market Analysis: Conduct store audits and retail visits; analyze sales data, market trends, and competitive activity to drive decision-making.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 4 years in retail, licensing, consumer products, or business development.

Industry Knowledge: Previous experience with Target (or major big-box retailers) and/or studio entertainment licensing is highly preferred.

Analytical Skills: Ability to use sales data and market trends to drive strategy and identify opportunities.

Communication: Polished presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients.

Soft Skills: Must be a proactive self-starter, an "outside-the-box" thinker, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
