Senior Java Architect

Position Title: Sr Java Architect

Position Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Days of the week: 5 days a week onsite

Working Hours (Flexible): 8-5 EST

Acceptable time zone(s): EST

OT: n/a - maybe sometimes a weekend release

Intended length of Assignment: 12 Months

This position contract with the right to hire if a need becomes available. Manager will only look at candidates that are open to converting to a full time employee. Client will not sponsor work visas if the decision is made to hire the contingent worker.

Function of the group: Our team support’s the Bank’s CCAR/DFAST Regulatory submission and compliance with the FED/OCC. CCAR is an annual Stress testing ( financial forecasting) exercise required by the banks in order to ensure compliance and to carry out their planned capital actions ( Share repurchases, Dividend policies etc.)

Current initiatives/project(s) that this resource will be impacting: We have an annual project/ budget around both CCAR Execution ( mid December kickoff to April Submission) followed up by a period where we focus primarily on the enhancements to the CCAR process for the upcoming year’s submission based on our finance owner’s feedback and priorities or if there is new reporting requirements delivered by the FED/ OCC we have to build out the platform to address.

Industry background: Banking, Regulatory reporting, CCAR Submission experience a huge plus,

Team dynamic: We are a smaller team currently 9 members: ( ASM, 2 BA’s, 1 BA/Tableau/Scrum master, 3 ETL Resources and 2 Web Developers).

This position would be a replacement for one of our web developers but they perform a variety of support functions across the app. Team is positioned around the Pittsburgh Hub ( has been remote but for going forward will be our center)

Roles and Responsibilities:

8-10 years total experience with at least 5-6 years of specific experience in the below items Get up to speed with the App BAU vulnerabilities Once submission happens in April will switch to more project work Newly building items

Technical Skills: Prior experience in JavaScript Frameworks (preferably Angular JS)

Expert in designing/developing J2EE based web-applications (JSP, Servlets, JSF, XSLT, XML)

Prior (hands-on) experience Architecting J2EE & Core Java based applications.

Expert in Design and development of REST services including authorization and metering.

Expert in designing/developing Java backend for web-applications (Spring Boot, Spock, Groovy, Mockito, TestNG etc...)

Prior experience in JavaScript/UI Frameworks (preferably React, Ag-Grid, Axios, Material UI etc...)

Prior experience in Build & Integration

Tools required: Gradle, Jenkins Pipeline, Docker(>-=JDK 17), GitHub Deployment experience to Open Shift Platform (Kubernetes), exposure to Helm Charts required

Prior experience in Relational databases (Oracle, Teradata etc..)

Flex Skills: Prior experience in designing/developing Java/J2EE based web-applications (JSP, Servlets, JSF, XSLT, XML) Prior experience in developing Python backends (with FastApi, Flask)

Prior experience (10-15 years total experience with at least 3-4 years of specific experience in the below items) in

Prior experience in Developing Single Page Web Apps (SPA)

Prior experience in NOSQL databases (Cassandra, Mongo etc..)

Nice to Have:- Design and development of high performance web scale systems including non-blocking designs and distributed caching.

Cloud infrastructure design and management

Design and implementation of automation and repeatable testing infrastructure.

The manager is in need for a senior level developer to join the team to work on a capital project that will eventually lead into BAU work.

The candidate will be responsible for developing Java based web applications.
