Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician, IVMS
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Multi-Craft Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a broad range of mechanical and electrical systems within the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role requires hands-on expertise in diagnosing equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting continuous production by minimizing downtime. The Multi-Craft Technician plays a critical role in sustaining operational excellence through technical proficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and maintenance standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across the facility
Utilize PLC systems to diagnose faults, adjust processes, and support automated equipment operations
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability
Repair and rebuild components such as gearboxes, pumps, hoists, and related assemblies
Install, maintain, and adjust air, gas, water, and steam systems
Install and commission new equipment, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and alignment
Measure tolerances and calibrate machinery and instrumentation to required specifications
Replace filters, clean work areas, and maintain a safe and organized workspace
Maintain housekeeping standards by cleaning work areas and properly disposing of materials
Operate mobile equipment, including fork trucks, in a safe and efficient manner
Interpret work orders, blueprints, schematics, and parts manuals to complete assigned tasks accurately
Complete maintenance documentation and records in accordance with company procedures
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, including electrical and mechanical systems
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex equipment and control systems, including PLC-based systems
Ability to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks across multiple disciplines
Working knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and equipment reliability practices
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
Commitment to workplace safety, compliance with all company policies, and regulatory compliance
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or a related environment
Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Working knowledge of PLC systems for troubleshooting and basic programming is strongly preferred
Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance activities is highly desirable
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / REQUIREMENTS
This position is characterized as active industrial work, requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting throughout the facility. The technician must be able to safely perform tasks at varying heights, in confined spaces, and in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Vocal communication is required to exchange information clearly and effectively; hearing is necessary to perceive equipment sounds and verbal instructions; visual acuity is required to inspect equipment, read technical documents, and operate machinery safely. The role routinely involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and industrial noise levels. Regular interaction with maintenance personnel, operations staff, and outside contractors is expected.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Minimal travel required (less than 5%)
REMOTE CAPABLE
This position is not remote-capable due to the hands-on, on-site nature of the work.
Strict attendance policy enforced.
