What we’re looking for:
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the maintenance department within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role ensures equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices while leading a team of technicians and contractors.
What will be expected from you?
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and plant safety standards.
- Manage maintenance work orders, schedules, and documentation using CMMS systems.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment failures and process interruptions.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and EHS teams to support plant initiatives.
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure adherence to site policies.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and manage procurement needs.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff on technical skills and safety procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in chemical or petrochemical environments.
- 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
- Understanding of PSM (Process Safety Management) and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with turnaround planning and execution.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and technical drawings.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training.
