What will be expected from you?
- Manages team leaders, supervision, and engineers that are responsible for the construction, repairs, field engineering, quality assurance, contract compliance, administration, and material control while working within defined budget.
- Works with inspection department to ensure plant construction and repairs are completed per applicable regulatory codes.
- Monitors contractor compliance with their own quality plans, schedules, staffing requirements, execution plans and other programs.
- Participates in safety and environmental meetings and incorporates safety and environmental rescue plans into all planned jobs and turnaround activities. Participates in behavioral safety, medical surveillance, and medical monitoring programs.
- Leads activities based on ensuring contractors are performing to expectations and within timeframes and established cost parameters.
- Monitors, verifies, and approves contractor's progress and payments. Maintains vigilance to assure the quality and quantity of materials and workmanship meet Indorama's specifications and quality expectations.
- Inspires, coaches, and provides quality feedback to optimize the performance of people and processes to develop and continuously improve knowledge, skills, and functional performance.
- Participates in developing and implementing strategic initiatives by working with other site and corporate managers to provide consistent partnering and leadership, strategies and tactics on key issues that impact the entire site.
- Establishes metrics/KPI's to monitor budget, manpower, planning, and scheduling to drive improvements.
- Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Assists other employees in accomplishment of company goals.
- Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by manager.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
- Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
- High school diploma or equivalent required. BS degree in Engineering field relevant to chemical/refinery process industry preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant maintenance/construction experience in a refinery or chemical plant required. 5 years prior maintenance/construction supervision or team lead experience is preferred.
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
- Must be able to understand SAP maintenance workflow processes including purchase requisition and MRO inventory management modules.
- Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing. Maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
