Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical and instrumentation systems across our production facilities. Your expertise will ensure optimal operational efficiency, safety, and reliability of all electrical and automation equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge industrial automation technologies, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, vision inspection systems, and distributed control systems (DCS). This position will be on rotating 12 hours shift every two weeks from 7 to 7. The schedule is 2 / 2 / 3

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems in accordance with engineering specifications, schematics, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and blueprints.
• Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic tools including ohmmeters, multimeters, and precision measuring instruments; execute repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial automation equipment such as PLCs, sensors, vision inspection systems, machinery, and low/high voltage systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, electrical blueprints, control diagrams, and safety procedures to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on pneumatic systems, hydraulic components, mechanical devices, and calibration of sensors to uphold system performance.
• Support field service activities by troubleshooting on-site issues related to electrical diagnostics and automation controls in manufacturing environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system reliability through engineering troubleshooting techniques; assist in programming or modifying PLCs or DCS as needed.
• Ensure all work complies with electrical safety procedures; maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and incident reports.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an industrial electrician or E&I technician in manufacturing or similar industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical diagnostics, schematics reading, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and blueprint interpretation.
• Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), sensors, calibration tools, and industrial automation equipment.
• Familiarity with pneumatic systems, hydraulic components, mechanical knowledge relevant to industrial maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters; experience with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures; experience working with vision inspection systems or other software is a plus.
• Experience reading engineering drawings using AutoCAD; familiarity with machinery is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent customer service orientation when working in field service roles.
• Military background or certifications related to industrial maintenance are considered an asset.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.75 per hour
