Indigo is a New York City-based Industry leader in affordable modern Luxury Home textiles in North America and globally . We are looking for a self-motivated, creative Textile CAD designer who can bring their vision to our product line. We are only accepting Textile designers at this time please do not apply if you are a graphic designer.
The Textile CAD Designer will work closely with the Design Director and design team on creating original art, manipulating existing art and building out collections for a range of categories in the soft home textiles industry. Will also have responsibility of meeting with few clients to present art and manage the client's artwork needs.
Job Functions:
Research print inspiration references through market, online and archives
- Create original prints from scratch and/or through manipulation of existing artwork or branding elements for multiple product categories
- Prepare beautiful presentations featuring mapping of art for all categories- Bedding, Pillow, Shower Curtain, Pet, Window, sheets, etc.
- Clean and color separate and create repeats for the artwork
- Create fresh, desirable and brand appropriate colorways of prints
- Create CADs of prints for in-house presentations
- Ensure digital presentation boards are updated with most accurate art and information.
- Organize digital files in shared folders
- Work proactively according to development calendar, to stay ahead of timelines
- Discuss priorities with Design Director and manage work schedule to achieve daily and weekly goals
- Partner with cross-functional departments within design, product development, and weekly meetings with merchandising,
- Research and design for Soft Textile collection, from initial concept to production
- Collaborates with Customers to create design and presentations based on their direction.
- Prepare art files for factories
Requirements
5 years of textile design work experience, in Home textile &/or apparel market
- Degree in Textile Design, or related field
- Excellent CAD skills
- Highly-developed taste level and excellent color sense
- Must be highly proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop user, additional proficiency in Ned Graphics a plus
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate as a team player
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adapt to change
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented – excellent calendar adherence and ownership
- Excellent time management skills
- Understanding and enthusiastic.

- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to establish good relationships with key parties and department staff.
