Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck for local route deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, including signing delivery receipts and updating logs
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during drop-offs and pickups
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues or safety concerns before each shift
- Assist with warehouse tasks, including moving inventory, organizing shipments, and maintaining cleanliness
- Follow route plans precisely, optimizing delivery schedules for efficiency and timeliness
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or in warehouse operations is highly desirable
- Proficiency in driving a box truck with manual transmission; experience with heavy lifting and moving items is essential
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other loading tools safely
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Physical ability to lift heavy packages repeatedly throughout the day and perform manual tasks as needed
- Knowledge of route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols for commercial vehicles
