What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Teacher position at Indie Laine Learning Co.?
Indie is expanding, and we’re looking for a passionate, creative, neurodiversity-affirming Certified Teacher to join our Innovation Center — a reimagined learning environment for children ages 6–12 that is rooted in curiosity, connection, and whole-child development.
What this role looks like:
- Leading a mixed-age developmental group (6–12) in a responsive, strengths-based classroom
- Designing learning experiences that are hands-on, exploratory, and engaging
- Collaborating closely with our therapy team (SLP, OT, PT, BCBA), Developmental Leads, and support staff
- Supporting individualized learning pathways in ways that affirm autonomy, regulation, and the whole child
- Teaching without compliance-based methods — instead using connection, curiosity, interest driven engagement and respectful boundaries
- Creating an environment where learners feel safe, seen, and supported to grow in their own ways
Who thrives here:
- Educators who are ready to challenge the status quo and step outside traditional classroom constraints
- Teachers who crave autonomy and creative freedom in designing meaningful learning experiences
- Professionals who value human-centered learning — where curiosity, joy, and relationship matter as much as academics
- Innovators at heart who love blending art with science, movement with literacy, or storytelling with math
- Collaborators who want to work side-by-side with interdisciplinary team members to build something groundbreaking
- Equity-driven educators who see neurodiversity as a strength and want to actively dismantle barriers in education
- Reflective practitioners who seek ongoing growth and aren’t afraid to experiment, question, redesign, and evolve
- Teachers who want to make deep, lasting impact on learners’ confidence, communication, and whole-child development
Why Indie:
- A mission-driven organization centered on equity, accessibility, innovation, and respect for neurodiversity
- A collaborative team culture where educators, therapists, and leaders support one another
- Professional development, mentorship, and opportunities to shape the future of responsive education
- A workplace where creativity is encouraged and your ideas genuinely matter
- A warm, relational environment designed to honor both learner and educator well-being
If you’re a certified teacher looking for a place where your expertise, compassion, and creativity can truly thrive — and where you can help redesign what school can be — we would love to meet you.
