Job Description

The Indianapolis Yacht Club, a private yacht club located on beautiful Geist Reservoir, is seeking an experienced, personable, and dependable Part-Time Bartender to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys bartending in a friendly, member-focused environment with a schedule that varies throughout the year.

During the boating season, this position will provide part-time bartending services in our clubhouse, serving members and their guests.

During the off-season, the position will primarily involve bartending for club-sponsored functions, private parties, and special events.

We're looking for someone who enjoys interacting with people, takes pride in excellent customer service, and appreciates the welcoming atmosphere of a private club.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, and other beverages.
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to club members and guests.
• Bartend club-sponsored functions, private parties, and special events throughout the year.
• Provide part-time clubhouse bar service during the boating season.
• Set up, stock, maintain, and clean bar areas before, during, and after service.
• Accurately process transactions through the club's POS system.
• Follow all applicable Indiana alcohol service regulations and responsible serving practices.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Work cooperatively with management and other staff to ensure successful events.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
• Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
• Knowledge of common cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple responsibilities.
• Must meet Indiana's legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and scheduled special events.

Schedule & Availability

This is a part-time position with hours that vary seasonally.

• Boating Season: Part-time clubhouse bartending shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Off-Season: Scheduled shifts for private parties, club functions, and special events.
• Hours will vary based on club operations, scheduled events, and staffing needs.

This position is ideal for an experienced bartender seeking flexible, supplemental employment in a welcoming environment.
