Development Officer                Annual Fund and Grant support SPECIFICATIONS:  Full-time, salaried position; Approximately 40-45 hours/week with additional evenings and weekends; paid vacation; free downtown parking. Salary $47,000 - $53,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits offered-Health, Dental, Vision, and Life InsurancePOSITION SUMMARY:·        Indianapolis Ballet, an equal opportunity employer, is seeking an experienced Director of Development for the advancement of classical ballet in our community. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position leads the fundraising strategy for the organization through donor-centered philanthropy.·        Essential requirements: exceptional time management, excellent writing skills, and attention to detail.Works with IB’s Development Officer-Events and Volunteer Manager, and IB’s Grant Writer.·        Duties include relationship-based fundraising, stewardship, and department management.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:·        Partners with the Executive Director, Board, and Staff to develop and implement donor-centered, and data-driven fundraising strategies, goals, and policies that align donor passions with organizational mission.·        Responsible for overseeing and working with IB’s grant writer for creating all grant writing initiatives, grant compliance, and reports for the organization.·        Identifies and qualifies prospective donors with emphasis on understanding donor motivations and designing personalized engagement opportunities.·        Assists as needed to coordinate special events with IB’s Development Officer-Events and Volunteer Management and Ballet Guild.·        Maintains accountability and compliance standards for donors, sponsors, and other funding sources.·        Manages the development budget, with emphasis on ROI and strategic resource allocation.·        Develops and executes meaningful donor recognition and stewardship plans that demonstrate measurable impact and foster long-term relationships.·        Helps the Executive Director build and nurture the Development Committee through strategic recruitment, engagement, and outcome measurements.·        Represents Indianapolis Ballet at performances and community events to establish and develop authentic relationships with patrons and stakeholders.·        Takes initiative to assist with other job functions as needed for the organization.QUALIFICATIONS:·        Four-year degree or equivalency and a minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant professional work experience in fundraising, grant writing, and partnership building. Experience or knowledge in the performing arts industry is strongly preferred, knowledge of classical ballet is desirable.·        Proven efficiency of donor-centered communication with excellent written and verbal skills.·        Experience with fundraising across multiple channels including digital, individual donors, and grants.·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and experience with donor management software (such as Bloomerang or Raiser’s Edge, or eTapestry).·        A Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) credential is desirable but not required.CONTENT OF CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION:Will have access to confidential, organizational and financial information.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time to conduct daily business operations. Position also requires hearing and visual acuity to converse with internal and external constituents in person, over the phone, and via electronic communication with or without reasonable accommodation.
