Job Summary
- Completes all university and Indiana state law required training and receive necessary certifications to independently perform the duties and responsibilities of Patrol Officer - Intermediate.
- Assists experienced patrol officers and other public safety staff as needed to gain field experience.
- Upon completion of training and attainment of certifications, demonstrates ability to independently patrol (solo patrol status).

Working Conditions / Demands
The role frequently requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and communicate effectively. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the working environment; handle or operate objects, controls, or tools listed above; ascend / descend ladders or stairs; position self to move at lower levels; and discern scents. The role requires the ability to lift and / or move more than 165 pounds. The role requires the ability to detect items in close proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and detect how far away an object is. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Advertised Salary
Patrol Officer Entry (Foundational) will have an annualized salary of $70,325
Patrol Officer (Intermediate) will have an annualized salary of $77,500
Patrol Officer Master (Mastery) will have an annualized salary of $85,000
