Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Greets and assists patients during check-in and check-out.
- Answers and directs phone calls professionally; provide basic clinic information.
- Schedules new and follow-up appointments using clinic software.
- Verifies and updates patient demographic and insurance information.
- Supports inventory management by tracking supplies and ordering as needed.
- Maintains accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
- Assists with general clerical duties (filing, preparing paperwork, scanning).
- Helps maintain a clean, organized reception area.
- Follows the Start-of-Day and End-of-Day Checklists.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with staff and supervisors.
- May assist with clinical support tasks such as obtaining vital signs (as needed).
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University Bloomington
- Currently studying pre-med, nursing, dental, or public health degrees
Preferred
- Experience in customer service, healthcare, or front desk role
- Familiarity with medical terminology
Required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and Outlook
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and professional
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
