Job Summary
Indiana Crop Improvement is seeking to hire Field Inspectors to support the upcoming inspection season in Western Indiana, specifically in and around Warren and Fountain Counties. Field Inspectors are responsible for walking corn fields to conduct inspections and provide online, analytical data of varietal purity, utilized for certification and evaluation for release of products. Inspections are completed in July and August prior to harvesting of fields.
Primary Responsibilities
- Follow Quality System procedures and practices. Actively participate in field trainings, programs, and initiatives.
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis of varietal purity according to established certification methods and protocols.
- Communicate with Field Director regarding identified field quality issues.
- Assist with other functions as determined by Field Director.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid Driver's License.
- A commitment to the mission and ISO quality policy of the organization.
Conditions of Employment
- This is a 4–5 week commitment, hourly, non-exempt position with opportunity for seasonal return for employment. Mileage will be paid for travel.
- Due to the nature of duties and responsibilities of this position, individuals must be willing to accept a time commitment which at times could vary depending on growth stages of crops.
