What are the responsibilities and job description for the Evening Mechanic position at Indiana County Transit Authority?

Starting Pay: $26.50/hr
Help keep our fleet ready for the road with an evening schedule, a solid benefits package, and pay increasing to $27.50/hour after successfully completing a 90-day probationary period.
Candidates who already hold a CDL with passenger endorsement and a Pennsylvania inspection license are preferred. Candidates without these credentials must obtain them within the 90-day probationary period.
What you’ll do:
Maintain IndiGO vehicles and equipment to support safe, efficient operations and assist fellow employees.
- Perform Pennsylvania safety inspections; identify and report hazards.
- Diagnose vehicle damage and malfunctions to keep the fleet in safe working order.
- Plan repairs using charts, technical manuals, and experience, following manufacturers’ recommended procedures.
- Use hydraulic jacks and hoists to access underbody components.
- Remove engines, transmissions, and differentials; disassemble components and inspect parts for wear.
- Repair and rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
- Reline and adjust brakes, align wheels, repair or replace shock absorbers, and fix fluid and air leaks.
- Replace and adjust headlights.
- Install and repair accessories, including radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
- Complete required maintenance reports.
