What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Coordinator position at Indiana Audiology?

Indiana Audiology is looking for a full-time Patient Care Coordinator for our independent, community-oriented practice in Western Pennsylvania that has been providing comprehensive hearing services for almost 30 years.

We are staffed by Doctors of Audiology committed to giving our patients the highest quality hearing health care available. We provide state-of-the-art hearing aid technology, advanced hearing testing, and tinnitus services. We absolutely love what we do! Responsibilities include:

  • Warmly greeting patients and other visitors
  • Answering phones in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Outbound calling to current and prospective patients
  • Entering and updating all patient information including intake and insurance forms
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Receiving funds and processing payments
  • Working with hearing aids and accessories, including basic troubleshooting
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with patients, vendors, colleagues, etc.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent listening, problem-solving, and service recovery skills.
  • Ability to accurately process and track financial transactions, including payments, reconciliations, and basic accounting functions.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Demonstrates empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Proficiency with office systems, including scheduling software, electronic medical records (EMR), and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Willingness and ability to travel for training or professional development, as required by the practice

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Frequently requires sitting, using hands, reaching and twisting
  • Frequently requires fine hand movements including typing
  • Frequently requires listening and speaking on a telephone and/or video conference program
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds with or without assistance
  • Standing and walking throughout the day
  • The work environment is generally quiet, with moderate noise from phones and other office machines.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate ($18-$23/hr DOE) plus potential for results-based incentive plan after 90-days of employment;
