SERVICE AGENT
General Description of the Job- This is a full-time hourly position with a varied schedule that operates 7 days a week between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. (hours and days may vary depending on the needs of Michigan Flyer). Some overtime work may be required during busier times of the year.
The individual in this role will be responsible for assisting customers and drivers by checking in pre-reserved customers, efficiently sorting and loading baggage, and providing general support to drivers to ensure on-time departures to and from Detroit Metro Airport. Prioritizing customer safety is essential, and the goal is to help create a positive experience for all customers. This position reports directly to the General Manager of Michigan Flyer.
Educational/Certification and Pre-Requisites- High School Diploma required; Must have good verbal communication skills and be able to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment. Qualified applicants must have a valid driver's license.
Essential Duties
Viewing and Hearing Abilities- Must be able to hear normally with or without the assistance of a hearing aid. Must have reasonably good vision with or without corrective lenses.
Mental Abilities - The work environment can be fast-paced, so individuals must be able to multitask, make decisions, and handle reasonable amounts of stress.

Essential Duties
- Checking in pre-reserved customers (cellphone/phablet provided)
- Issuing boarding passes for customers
- Loading luggage in an organized and efficient manner for easy unloading by the driver
- Answering questions regarding the shuttle service
- Assisting customers with luggage and finding the shuttle bus
- Communicating to drivers, dispatchers, and Michigan Flyer staff on an as-needed basis
- Decision-making on any number of scenarios when supervisors are not immediately available
- Assisting Michigan Flyer, D2A2, DAX, or Indian Trails as needed in the event of any emergencies that may arise
