Indian Springs Resort is seeking an experienced, strategic, and people-focused Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team during one of the most exciting chapters in our history.
For more than 150 years, Indian Springs Resort has been a destination unlike any other. Set on 17 acres in the heart of Calistoga, our historic resort is renowned for its natural mineral waters, iconic Olympic-sized mineral pool, authentic mud baths, and relaxed luxury that reflects the spirit of Napa Valley. As we prepare for a significant resort expansion, the Director of Human Resources will play a critical leadership role in shaping our growing organization. This is a unique opportunity to build upon an exceptional culture while leading strategic recruiting, workforce planning, leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational growth during an exciting period of expansion.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Human Resources serves as a trusted business partner to ownership and resort leadership, providing strategic direction for all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, compliance, compensation, performance management, safety, training and development, and organizational culture.
What you'll do:
- Provide strategic leadership for all human resources functions across the resort.
- Lead recruitment, workforce planning, and onboarding efforts to support our upcoming expansion and continued growth.
- Partner with department leaders to attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent.
- Foster a culture built on respect, accountability, hospitality, and employee engagement.
- Develop leadership training and professional development programs that strengthen management effectiveness.
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Direct employee benefits, compensation programs, HR policies, and organizational initiatives.
- Lead employee safety, workers' compensation, and risk management programs in partnership with operational leaders.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the resort, building strong relationships with leaders and team members alike.
What we're looking for:
- Progressive Human Resources leadership experience within hospitality, hotels, resorts, or related service industries.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leadership to drive organizational performance and employee engagement.
- Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance.
- Experience leading organizational growth, large-scale recruiting, or hotel/resort pre-opening initiatives is highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence, inspire, and develop others.
