The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and TCMA are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Clerk to support daily operations, special events, marketing efforts, and program administration. Under direct supervision, , this position supports - SBDC (Small Business Development Center) and TCMA by coordinating events, maintaining website content, and creating promotional materials. The role includes assisting with seminars, responding to inquiries, and providing customer service. Responsibilities also include processing registrations, entering student data, and supporting meetings and daily operations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as heavy work involving lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. If someone can do heavy work, we determine that he or she can also do medium, light, and sedentary work.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS:
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee must possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Additionally, all employees of the College are expected to maintain professional standards of communication, able to learn and apply new technology, and abide by all policies and procedures. Continued employment remains on an “at-will” basis.
Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and early mornings for special events as needed.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and manage FSBDC events, including collaboration with security, physical plant, Institutional Advancement, and IT; handle room reservations, agendas, and event logistics such as refreshments and catering as needed.
- Manage and maintain all FSBDC at Indian River State College ad TCMA email and social media marketing efforts.
- Assist with identifying, securing, and coordinating presenters, speakers, and promotional participants.
- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, workshops, seminars, initiatives, and conferences.
- Collaborate with the FSBDC Regional Director to promote FSBDC and TCMA programs and services.
- Assist in planning and executing seminars, workshops, forums, and conferences.
- Coordinate and support the FSBDC client success story program and Small Biz Florida Podcast, including promotion, guest registration, and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate program records and submit timely reports to the Florida SBDC Network Office.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and applicable federal regulations.
- Complete all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Proven clerical experience and experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications to include and Microsoft Excel as well as course web registration experience;
- Proven knowledge of Email marketing software and social media marketing;
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) necessary to provide information to the administration, staff, and clients regarding program services and information;
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse student populations, administration, faculty, staff, and confidential matters;
- Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette;
- Ability to answer questions relating to registration, course offerings, and training programs for the SBDC
- Maintain flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and early mornings for special events
- Ability to work well with students, faculty and co-workers and have a positive attitude;
- Ability to multi-task and to be well organized;
- Ability to work effectively, efficiently, highly independently as well as with others and be self-motivated;
