Qualifications:

• Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Strong working knowledge of regulatory compliance, current knowledge of MDS and PDPM preferred.

• At least 3 years of recent nursing experience in skilled nursing, post-acute or long-term care. At least 1 year of supervisory experience such as DON or Charge Nurse in a skilled nursing facility

• Experience with PointClickCare preferred but not required.

• Proven results working in a management role in a healthcare facility; strong historical survey results

• Recruiting, leadership, critical thinking and team-building skills

• Excellent resource managementExcellent written and verbal communications skills

Primary Responsibilities of our DON:

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for leading the skilled nursing team to ensure high standards of quality and delivering excellent care to residents. You will ensure that each nurse on staff is properly certified and abides by the standards for care established by our organization and state and federal laws.

Responsible for creating and implementing new policies and updating existing policies to help improve the level of care for each resident. Implement quality improvement programs designed to help us deliver the highest possible level of service. Ensure that all care plans have the documentation necessary to provide the proper type of care.

The DON also maintains relationships with healthcare providers and hospitals in the local community. Our Director of Nursing is supported by corporate operations and clinical teams human resources and recruiting to establish us as a premier employer and provider of healthcare services.
