Description
This person is responsible for administration and maintenance of the IHCC network including but not limited to Switches, Routers, Wireless, Firewalls and Server infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continued innovation in network infrastructure, policies and procedures. This individual is responsible for the upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of network devices.

Minimum Job Requirements
Associate degree in Computer Sciences, Networking or Computer Programming required.
Education or experience in network administration. Must have experience with enterprise firewalls, switches, and wireless.
High degree of competency within the technology field and troubleshooting.
A good understanding of enterprise networking and configuration. Must be willing to learn new technologies.
High levels of oral and written communication skills are important. Must be able to work effectively with users at all competency levels.
Work Performed
Administer and maintain the IHCC Wide Area Network, Local Area Network and Wireless Local Area Network. (WAN, LAN and WLAN).
Responsible for monitoring network devices and maintaining required uptime.
Maintain compliance with security updates and firmware applied to network devices.
Assist in maintenance of Microsoft Services, Active Directory, Exchange and Office for students, faculty and staff.
Assist in maintenance and administration of physical door security, camera equipment and other
Assist in the assignment and configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
Assist with the maintenance and upgrades of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
Responsible for ensuring the quality and currency of network and server backups.
Function as an active member of Information Security team and take responsibility for network device, and server configuration security as well as vulnerability detection and remediation.
Configure and maintain Domain Name Services (DNS), and Email services.
Maintain network equipment inventory and currency.
Assist with resolution of Operations tickets in helpdesk queue and ensure timely issue resolution.
Cross train with other IT staff to ensure all duties are covered during leaves.
Train staff and faculty members in the use and security of IT systems.
Other duties as may be assigned.
