POSITION SUMMARY The Radiologist interprets and evaluates extremely difficult diagnostic radiologic procedures and is often called upon to urgently evaluate many exams, including CTs, ultrasounds and teleradiographs. Plus provides consultation to others to interpret radiologic findings and assist in determining the nature and the extent of diagnosis covering all body systems. Duties: Condensed List of Position Responsibilities The following is a shortened version of the full duties for the Radiologist position at TCRHCC. Position Duties 1. Determine appropriate radiological examinations based on patient condition, history, and symptoms. 2. Prescribe x-rays for specific body areas and administer radiopaque substances when needed. 3. Evaluate x-ray and fluoroscopic images, correlate findings with other tests, and record diagnoses and recommendations. 4. Consult with physicians to interpret radiologic findings and assist in planning further diagnostic studies. 5. Recommend methods for coordinating imaging services and advise on staffing, supplies, and equipment needs. 6. Serve as Acting Chief of Radiology in the absence of the Director of Imaging Services; oversee temporary radiologists and evaluate their performance. 7. Participate in teaching activities for clinical staff, residents, and trainees; assist in training field x-ray technicians. 8. Provide onsite film reading at neighboring service units. 9. Assist in monitoring and reporting continuous Quality Improvement activities in compliance with Joint Commission standards. 10. Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, including discharge summaries and correspondence. 11. Refer patients to appropriate external facilities and coordinate follow-up care. 12. Ensure legible handwriting in all documentation. 13. Enter relevant data into electronic health records. 14. Wear appropriate PPE at all times while on duty. 15. Safely complete donning and doffing of PPE and dispose of used items properly. 16. Complete training for cleaning and decontamination of surfaces exposed to communicable diseases. 17. • A Medical Degree, MD or DO
• Completion of a five (5) year residency program in Radiology
