Lower School Strings Teacher (long term substitute)

Indian Creek School is an independent, co-ed day school in which 600 students aged 3 to Grade 12 partner with innovative teachers in an outstanding educational program. This role will begin late January/early February and end on the last day of school on June 5th. The position is part time and reports to the Lower School Principal.

Responsibilities  

• Teach Grade 3, 4, and 5 strings classes during the instructional day. 

• Attend and assist in all Performing Arts performances and events. 
• Plan, prepare and execute concerts and productions for grade levels and ensembles taught. 

• Attend and assist in Performing Arts performances and events. 

• Use pedagogical best practices, learning standards, and assessments to drive student growth and achievement in the Performing Arts. 

• Develop and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with colleagues to foster a well-rounded performing arts experience for each student.                    

• Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community. 

• Work with the Lower School principal and administrative team to provide an excellent and engaging educational experience for students. 

• Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. 
• Lunch and recess duties, as assigned.

• Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings including professional development days. 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred) 

• Demonstrated experience in Lower School music education. 

• Educational philosophy aligns with the mission and vision of Indian Creek School

• Federal and State Background Check clearance and MSDE Employment History review 

Benefits and Salary Range 

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's years of experience at an educational institution and prior administrative experience and responsibilities. Candidates will be offered a competitive salary and are exempt from overtime within the range of to dependent on experience.  

As this position is part-time, benefits are not provided in this role’s compensation package, and the long term substitute rate ranges from $130 to $175 per day.
