Position Overview:
Indev is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst / Tester to support a DHS mission-critical system that provides a secure, fair, and efficient redress process for travelers experiencing adverse security screening outcomes.
The QA Analyst ensures software solutions are high-quality, defect-free, compliant, and user-friendly by designing, executing, and analyzing manual and automated tests across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The role collaborates closely with developers, product owners, and government stakeholders to identify defects early, validate fixes, and support reliable system releases that protect privacy, civil liberties, and national security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, scenarios, and scripts (manual and automated).
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identify, document, track, and verify resolution of software defects and performance issues using Jira or ServiceNow.
- Review system requirements, specifications, and user stories to ensure test coverage and traceability.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure new releases do not impact existing functionality.
- Generate clear test reports, defect metrics, and release readiness assessments.
- Validate end-to-end workflows across Salesforce, ServiceNow, Login.gov, and AWS GovCloud environments.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and cross-functional teams throughout Agile sprints.
- Participate in SDLC activities including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, FISMA, Section 508, and DHS security and privacy requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or software testing for enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with manual and automated testing approaches.
- Proficiency with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
- Working knowledge of databases and data validation (e.g., SQL).
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DHS suitability or clearance (active DHS clearance preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting DHS, TSA, or other federal civilian agencies.
- QA experience with Salesforce, ServiceNow, identity management, or SaaS platforms.
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, ServiceNow ATF).
- Familiarity with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments and accessibility testing.
